Our Privacy Pledge

Our mission is to give you control of who has access to your information online. We follow three core principles to ensure your data is kept safe and your information remains private. 


We're open and honest about what we do

No tricks or hidden agendas

We pride ourselves on being straightforward and fair. We avoid dark-patterns or language that misleads you into doing something you wouldn’t ordinarily do. If you ever feel like you didn’t get what you bargained for, reach out to us and we’ll make things right.

We don’t monetize or sell your data

Our business revolves around giving you control over your data–not selling your data. We have no association (in any way) with data brokers or anyone who sells your information. That’s not something most of our competitors can say.


Your data is yours to give, and yours to take back

You decide what you provide us

We’re here to protect your privacy. As part of that mission, we may need to disclose your information to other businesses (let us explain). For example, we need to use your information to search for you on data broker websites. We understand that you're trusting us with your personal information–we take that trust seriously.

We’ll forget you if you’d like

Deleting your Atlas account means that you’re erased from our systems. It’s that easy. If you give us additional details like family members’ names and decide that you want it back, simply remove it and it’s off our database. The only exception is that we may need to keep an anonymized record of your purchase for accounting (we hate taxes too). 


Your information is safe while it’s in our hands

We keep your data secure

We use industry-leading methods to make sure your data is safe. This includes establishing encrypted connections and hashing sensitive information. Unfortunately, we can’t go into too much technical detail since the bad guys are reading this too.

Security is part of our culture

Over half of our founding team has experience in antivirus, cybersecurity, or defense industries. As a result, we put security front and center in everything we do. This means we might be a little slower to roll out new features and products, but we think it’s a worthwhile tradeoff. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
